DESCRIPTION:SO YOU WANT YOUR NAME IN LIGHTS TEEN WORKSHOP/SHOWCASE-FOR-SCHOLARSHIPS SET SATURDAY\, NOVEMBER 21 AT BRONZE KINGDOM \n  \nORLANDO\, FL – SO YOU WANT YOUR NAME IN LIGHTS Mentor Teen Talk Workshop and Talent Showcase-For-Scholarships continue on Saturday\, November 21\, starting from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM. \nOur host location is The Bronze Kingdom at 6464 International Drive. \nOn a monthly basis\, until April 2021 (Awards Day)\,  under-served youth\, ages 12 to 17 (up to 18 for high school seniors only) have opportunities to participate in educational workshops\, as well as showcases to share their talents. This month’s showcase features guest artist/vocalist Alonzo Allen who is October’s Top Performer. Each month a “Top Performer” is recognized by online voting; and that teen performer returns the following month to share their talent once more as featured guest artist.  All  “Top Performers” from these monthly showcase series (September 2020 – March 2021) will compete for scholarships and other prizes on April 24\, 2021 (AWARDS DAY). \nThe November 21st Mentor Teen Talk workshop facilitators are Frank Taylor\, International Recording Conductor/Trumpeter and Will Covington\, Program Visionary/International Record Producer and Grammy-Award-Winning Drummer.  Their topic is “Education – The Ultimate Equalizer For Any Profession”.  They will also share some of their career experiences.  Talent showcase application can be obtained at www.musictomymind.com; and should submit by Thursday\, November 19 DEADLINE. \nAttendees will get a sneak peek\, self-guided tour of the Bronze Kingdom Museum.  In-person attendance is limited\, temperature check upon arrival and masks must be worn at all times. These FREE workshops and showcases are made possible from funding\, in part\, by Orange County and United Arts of Central Florida.  So You Want Your Name In Lights is a youth mentoring/arts-focused program that uses music to engage participants’ interest.  This program is designed to provide life and social skills training to under-served youth with the aim to build character\, self-confidence\, self-esteem\, leadership\, and positive-thinking.  Its 6-weeks summer program offers etiquette\, healthy wellness\, financial literacy\, basic piano\, music composition\, copyrighting\, sound recording\, field trips\, and mentor teen talks that are paired with monthly talent showcases-for-scholarships. On the last day of summer camp\, the participants perform songs that they composed.  The monthly workshop/showcase is an offshoot of the summer music camp.   Music To My Mind\, Inc is a 501c3\, non-profit music education organization. \nFor further questions or if you are interested in contributing to the SCHOLARSHIP FUND\, please send your email to covingtong622@gmail.com.
